Renfrow Story Presentation at Friends Annual Meeting
The Friends of Drake Community Library Annual Meeting will take place in the Caulkins Community Room on Tuesday, February 28th at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30 and the program will start at 7 pm. Board members will be supplying refreshments; desserts and hot beverages.
Monique Shore of Drake Community Library and Dr. Tamara Beauboeuf of Grinnell College will deliver a presentation on Edith Renfrow Smith. Renfrow Smith is the first Black woman to graduate from Grinnell College and the oldest living alumni of both Grinnell High School (1932) and Grinnell College (1937). The meeting will also cover what the Friends have done this year for the library, a look at the group’s finances, and plans for 2023.
