Ancestry Library Edition is a version of the popular Ancestry.com resource especially licensed for library use. It includes all of the popular databases found at Ancestry.com, including census, vital statistics, church, court and immigration records.

*The licensing requirements for Ancestry Library Edition are limited. You must be connected to the library network to use this resource.

HeritageQuest is a genealogy research tool, available from anywhere if you have a library account. It searches some of the same records as Ancestry, but is not as extensive. It does include more historical documents, wills for example, than Ancestry.

FamilySearch is a nonprofit organization and website offering genealogical records, education, and software. It is operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).

FamilySearch maintains a collection of records, resources, and services designed to help people learn more about their family history.  Although it requires user account registration, it offers free access to its resources and service online at FamilySearch.org, one of the most heavily used genealogy sites on the Internet.

The Poweshiek County Historical and Genealogical Society maintains a large collection of family histories. In addition, they offer genealogy research assistance for a small fee. They are an incredible resource run by a dedicated group of volunteers.
