Stewart Library (2019) is a chalk pastel drawing by artist Mollie Osgood depicting the original Stewart Library, inspired by her affection for the building, its staff, and its patrons. Osgood worked at Stewart Library from 2000 to 2004 and has explored diverse media, including painting, collage, and quilting. Her artistic influences include Van Gogh, Agnes Martin, and Mary Cassatt.
Stewart Library opened in 1902 at 926 Broad Street. The three-story brick building, designed in the Romanesque Revival style, now serves as the home of the Grinnell Area Arts Council.
